No. Proud Smile JNR is a general dental clinic created exclusively for children aged 1 to 17. We sit between traditional family dentists and specialist clinics, offering everyday care designed specifically for kids.
What ages do you see?
We care for children and teens from their first dental visits through to adolescence, supporting every stage of growth along the way.
What if my child feels anxious about the dentist?
Our approach is calm, pressure-free and child-led. We focus on building trust, moving at your child’s pace and helping them feel safe and comfortable at every visit.
How is this different from a regular dental clinic?
Everything at Proud Smile JNR is designed for children. From the environment and communication to our systems of care, the experience is built around how kids feel, grow and gain confidence.
We haven’t just adapted some procedures; we have also created entirely new protocols and workflows using existing digital technology to deliver faster, more precise, and much more comfortable experiences for children.

Michelle Bullas
Michelle Bullas is the co-founder of Proud Smile JNR and a highly experienced Oral Health Therapist with a career spanning leading dental clinics across Australia. Her work with both children and adults shaped a clear vision: to create a dental experience for kids that feels respectful, empowering and genuinely supportive.
Michelle’s passion for child-focused care, combined with her hands-on clinical experience, led to the creation of Australia’s first general dental clinic dedicated exclusively to children. Proud Smile JNR is the result of that vision, where care, purpose and innovation come together.
Erwin Vasconcelos
Dr Erwin Vasconcelos is the founder of the Proud Smile Dental Group and co-founder of Proud Smile JNR. With over 20 years of experience in dentistry, he has grown Proud Smile into one of the Gold Coast’s leading dental groups, known for innovation, precision and patient-centred care.
At Proud Smile JNR, Dr Erwin brings the same advanced systems, digital expertise and commitment to excellence, thoughtfully adapted for younger patients. His role ensures children receive the same level of care and innovation traditionally reserved for adults, in an environment designed just for them.
